UNITED 4th Capacity Building Training – Mahasarakham, Mahasarakham University

On the first day, the participants met at Pullman Raja Orchid Khon Kaen Hotel to hear about teaching mechatronics and software development by Karl Reisinger from FH JOANNEUM (Austria), with a practical session on teaching concepts for mechatronics.

On the second day, there was a welcome ceremony at Mahasarakham University and a short lab tour in the afternoon. The training focused on test facilities in automotive engineering and a hands-on session on testing bays at partner universities.

Day 3 was dedicated to study visits at companies related to automotive engineering. In the morning, the training participants were hosted by CTV in Khon Kaen, with a tour through the company which is selling the front part of the truck, all kinds of truck and offering the services of truck hire purchasing. In the afternoon, the partners were invited by Atipong Motor, the Thai company partner in the UNITED project. Participants got insights into the company, where the “Isan Tuktuk” (or “Samlor Skylab”), a very famous three-wheeler, was invented and produced until today in various styles and designs.

 

On the last day of the training, the focus was laid on the future Engineering Knowledge Transfer Units (EKTUs) of the SEA partners. To complete the 4 capacity building trainings, the partners presented the equipment which they intend to buy for the EKTUs and offered a first draft of their business plans.
